We will miss Tom Wolf!!This is a tough year for me personally, the Metro Officers, the Metro membership, all NW Ohio Amateur golfers and especially the Tom Wolf family. For those who may not know, Tom was not feeling well last fall and after test after test was diagnosed with cancer in early December. The disease spread quickly and Tom passed away February 13th. Tom was a terrific friend of mine and many of you in the Metro. For over 20 years, he worked tirelessly in his various roles with the Metro and running our "major events", including the Jermain and Toledo Am. He was a great organizer, with attention to detail and has been a key component of the Metro. Tom’s dedication to the game we all love, will be recognized this fall as Tom has been nominated for the Toledo District Golf Hall of Fame. Additionally, the Fall Classic will be named in his honor as that tournament was his idea some 20+ years ago. |
