Kornowa, Gerken, Mefferd shoot even par 72 to tie for scratch honors and McMahon follows Jermain win with net title @ Tecumseh CC

A beautiful new venue for the Metro, Tecumseh Country Club, proved to be very competitive as Metro points leader Kevin Kornowa, Jermain medalist Brian Gerken and Belmont member Mike Mefferd shot even-par 72 on the sporty course with fast, undulating greens.Gerken shot nines of 38/34 by eagling 14 and making birdie on 17, Kornowa's nines were 35/37 with birdies on 3 & 10 and Mefferd shot 36/36 by also making eagle on 14. Clint Schreiber with birdies on 11, 14 and 15 finished 1 shot short with a 73. Kornowa was the only one of the top 4 to par the tough par 5 16th.
Tom McMahon, fresh off of his C-Flight Jermain championship, birdied 9 & 15, shot 37 on the back nine and netted 67 for a 2-shot victory over the ever present George Bacon and Mike Lenkay, who birdied 18 to tie for second.
