BACC Golf League 2011

Each Friday the foursomes begin to tee off at 6:30 on either the front 9 or the back 9 at Makray. Be on time and be ready to play golf. Arriving at least 15 minutes before your posted tee times is a must and please bring the correct amount of money, it speeds things up for everyone. A realistic time to play 9 holes is 2 hours and 15 minutes, which breaks down to 15 minutes per hole. We play ready golf, that is after 10 strokes, pick-up your ball and move on to the next hole. We do not use the stroke-and distance penalty, but when you are in a water hazard, lost ball, out of bounds, you drop and take a penalty stroke and move on. On the greens we ask all player to practice good golf etiquette and care for the greens and the course.

Weekly Tee Times:

Your tee times and your weekly opponent will be posted each week on the website. Be sure to check the website for this infromation before Friday. All the information that is pertaining to the golf league will be posted from time to time on the website, and from this point on the use of email will be minimal.

Attendance!!!!

Attendance is very important and good attendance will assure the league the use of both the front and back nine ,. There are two things we all can do to help. #1 Please keep your absenteeism to a minimum, I know, work, family, and vacation will have an effect on attendance, and it should. #2 If you are going to be absent, please let me ( Joe Rush, by e-mail portraits@bjrlandon.net or Phone 847-382-5463) know in advance.

Tee Box

Men tee off from the Silver tees and the ladies from the Bronze tee box. The tee box you use will have an effect on your handicap, because each tee box has a different course rating and a different slope.

Score Card:

You enter scores hole by hole, points and other statistics will be calculated automatically. It is best if you keep one card per foursome, and please print and use your first initial and you full last name. Your first name only can and will lead to mistakes. Besides the number of strokes, also record the number of putts, as an example, 2/5 is 2 putts and 5 strokes on the hole. There will be a putting contest at end of season and the selection for which players are eligible, will be based on their average number of putts per round for the season.

Scoring:

One point per hole, for each player with the best net on that hole and one point for the better net score, a tie splits the point. The maximum number of points per round for any player would be 10. The maximum player points for any team would be 40, if all four players on the team won all 9 holes. The same system would apply for team vs. team. The two-some with the better team net score wins 5 team points, for a max of 10 team points if both two-somes win their match. The total number of points any team could win, both player points as well as team points would be 50, plus 1 point for each player in attendance. IF YOU FORFEIT THE MATCH, BY NOT NOTIFYING THE LEAGUE THAT YOU WILL BE ABSENT, your opponent will receive all 10 points. If you do notify the league that you are going to be absent, then your opponent plays a ghost player. The ghost shoots the missing players average score and average handicap, therefore your team loses either no points or a least a minimal number of points. If you are going to be absent from your golf round, please notify Joe Rush by Wednesday. Joe's email is portraits@bjrlangdon.net or call him (847) 382-5463 and if you have to call, do so during normal business hours.
