BOARD MEETING AGENDA

 

February 15, 2011

 

Meeting called to order at 7 PM by President Barbara Akus

 

Board Members Present –Barbara Akus, Cindy Bowser, Pete Broksch, Jim Dall, Hardric McMillon , Dan Pool, Tom Senior and Wray Walker; absent Millie Grime.

 

Minutes from our last regular meeting January 18th stand approved as posted on the web site and in the conference room.

 

Treasurer – Tom Senior

 

1.      January, 2011 results came in a little better than January 2010.  Outside play increased by about

$10,000 which more than offset the decrease in recognized member dues and trail fees ( 1/12th of annual amount allocated to each month).

2.      We paid our 2010 real estate taxes of $ 20,763.77 earlier this month.

3.      Our dues paid for 2011 as of today amounts to $ 181,733 which is roughly $ 50,000 less than that for 2010.

4.      We have 64 golf/trail memberships paid at this time; down from 87 last year.  It is worth noting that our numbers have dropped each year over the last few years but this past year saw a sharp increase in the rate of decline.

Pro Shop – Hardric Mc Millon

During the month of January we had 3499 rounds of golf played by outsiders. During the same period last year we had 2650.

For February 2011 to-date we’ve had 2318 rounds played. For the month of February 2010 we had 1581 rounds of outside play. 2011 is off to a good start. Kudos to Roger for an outstanding job.

Club Activities – Jim Dall

Had a good attendance even though many regulars couldn't be there.  Had 32 players.  Gave Certificates and Sweets to winners.  The Chicken Oscar Dinner was delightful followed by Cindy's  Tapioca stuffed Valentine cup cakes.

Restaurant – Cindy Bowser                   

The Restaurant will be closing on February 28th. Until that time they will still be having dinners on  Friday nights and business as usual during the week.

All we can say at this point in time that you have not heard already is that the bank involved in the transaction will have its appraiser on site this week.

Presidents/Board Message –

With so much in limbo, the Board has been a little inactive, waiting for our fate to be decided. We haven’t finalized the slate of officers or committee chairmen since if the closing is the 28th of February it would be rather useless. If for some reason the sale falls through, we will re-organize and re-group at that point.

A motion was made by Cindy Bowser to adjourn the meeting; seconded by Pete Broksch. The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
