Constitution & By-Laws - Amended
January 2008
Article 1. The name
of the ORGANIZATION shall be “GOLF HAMMOCK MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION” (GHMGA)
Article 2. The
purpose of the ASSOCIATION shall be to promote interest in golf and good
fellowship by sponsoring golf and social events for adult male members of Golf
Hammock Country Club.
Article 3. Membership
in the ASSOCIATION shall be composed of the adult male golf members of Golf
Hammock Country Club, who pay a fee of $35.00 or an amount determined by the
Board of Directors, payable on December 1st or within (30) days
thereafter. Members who’s dues are not paid by Jan. 1st will become
non-members and unable to participate in association activities. New members
accepted during the months of November and December shall be considered paid in
full for the following year. The fiscal year is January to December.
Article 4. The
officers of the ASSOCIATION shall be composed of Seven (7) Directors,
each serving two year periods.
(4) Four elected during even years and (3) Three elected during odd years, (as
explained in the original by laws of 1984), each of whom shall be elected by a
simple majority of members present at the annual meeting. Voting shall be by
secret ballot. The President shall appoint a Nominating Committee to provide
the slate of candidates. The Committee’s work must be completed and the slate
of candidates posted alongside the Notice of the Annual Meeting two (2) weeks
prior to the Second Tuesday in December. Additional nominations may be made
from the floor.
Article 5. The
annual meeting and elections shall be held on the second Tuesday of December.
Other regular meetings shall be held in March and October. Additional meetings
may be called by the President, with proper notification given to the
Membership by mail or by notice on the Club Bulletin Board thirty (30) days
prior to said meeting.
Article 6. The
Officers of the ASSOCIATION shall be selected from the Directors elected
by the Membership: President, Vice-President,
and Secretary-Treasurer. All Meetings of the general membership and the Board of
Director shall be conducted as per Robert’s Rules of Order.
Article 7. The
CONSTITUTION and BY-LAWS may be amended at any General Meeting by a 2/3
majority of Members present, provided that the Membership shall have been given
notice by mail or posting on the Club Bulletin Board thirty (30) days prior to
said Meeting.
Article 8. ASSOCIATION
ACTIVITIES
To
participate in the Activities of the ASSOCIATION, one must be a Member in good
standing or the invited in-house guest of a Member in good standing.
The President shall appoint for approval, from the board of
directors, the following standing committees:
Golf
Tournaments
Handicap
Rules
Publicity
Hospitality
and other committees as the Board deems necessary. All Golf
Play shall be under U.S.G.A. AND LOCAL CLUB RULES. Play under these rules will
be the only scores allowed to establish a Handicap.
GENERAL INFORMATION
GHMGA
plays each Tuesday and Thursday. In addition, several special events are
scheduled each year. Tuesday’s teams are formed by random (Computer) draw.
Thursday’s teams may be formed by participants.
PLEASE pay
$3.00 playing fee 30 minutes before your TEE time.
Tuesday’s
teams are drawn by Friday noon - After 1:00 P.M. alternates will be provided
for.
Thursday’s
teams are drawn by Sunday noon - After
1:00 P.M. alternates will be provided for.
ONCE TEAMS ARE POSTED, PLAYERS ARE OBLIGATED FOR $3.00 PLAYING FEE. NO
EXCUSES !!!! NO EXCEPTIONS !!!!
Guests
playing in any ASSOCIATION EVENT using GHMGA Monies must pay 1 1/2 entry fee (
i.e. $ 8.00 Entry Fee, guest pays $12.00)
Any
player’s name drawn to complete a (4-some) or a (2-some) will share that team’s
prize money. No player may receive two prizes, Drawn player receives the higher
Prize money.

PLACE TIES :
Step #1 Medal score for last nine holes (tied)
Step #2 Medal score for last six holes (tied)
Step #3 Medal score for last three holes (tied)
Step #4 Match cards from 18th. back thru 1st. until tie is broken.
ALL PRIZES ARE CREDITED TO YOUR GOLF HAMMOCK CLUB ACCOUNT
THURSDAY’S PLAY
CREDITED MONEY:
$12.00 to 4-somes, $9.00 to
3-somes $6.00 to 2-somes. Each GROUP
decides how monies are to be paid. Each GROUP notifies PRO-SHOP.
BONUS (Sleeve of (3) balls) awarded on any TUESDAY or GHMGA

Players with handicaps of (30) or more will be required to
make (6) points when playing Quota Points. Maximum Handicap of GHMGA is (36).
RAINED OUT GAMES
Play may be terminated, only by Tournament Committee or
Tournament Chairman, with LIGHTNING being the exception.
RAIN OUTS for Tuesday’s
Play:
When the entire entrants or teams cannot finish (18) holes
of play, prizes will be awarded for the first nine holes played. If nine holes
cannot be completed by all entrants or teams, a NEW EVENT will be scheduled for
the following Tuesday. A new SIGN-UP
SHEET for that EVENT will be posted in the Men’s Locker Room.
Any team or (individual) not completing 18 Holes or (
Scheduled Holes of Play ) during an event is automatically disqualified.
RAIN OUTS for Thursday’s
Play:
Teams and Groups must decide how their money will be
credited. (NOTIFY the PRO-SHOP) A
new SIGN-UP SHEET will be posted in the
Men’s Locker Room.
HANDICAPS (available)
All minors (under the age of 18) related to a GHMGA member
may have their handicap kept, at no cost, by the GHMGA Handicap Committee
Silver Tee Eligibility

Requirements
This ruling applies to GHMGA Tuesday and Thursday play:
Members 75 years of age or older will be eligible to play
as a Silver Tee Member.
Members under age 75 with an Index of 21.0 or higher will
be eligible to play as
a Silver Tee Member.
Any eligible Silver Tee Member
choosing this option must submit only scores from the Silver Tee for Handicap. (Remember to highlight your name on
Scorecard) When playing in our
annual President’s Cup & Match Play Tournaments, Silver Tee Members will
play in the Silver Tee Division.
Yearly GHMGA Tournaments will be arranged so as to
accommodate play from
WHITE and SILVER
Memorial Area
The pond between Holes #11 and #12 (surrounded by cedars)
will be the new location for our memorial tags of deceased members.
