Treasurer – Gail Archey

In an effort to keep up with the impact of technology on our business we decided to partner with EZ Links Golf to incorporate their online tee time reservations system into our operation. Their system is designed to improve our marketing of Golf Hammock to the golfing world by taking advantage of the Internet. Also, their system will improve our inventory controls and bring our systems up to date with currently available technology. As part of the process we also updated our financial system to QuickBooks 2010. We look forward to a successful conversion to all of this technology, but for the moment we are not yet completely integrated with the new systems. Therefore, we do not have a solid financial report to give at this meeting. However, we ran a 27 day revenue report just before all of these changes were introduced, and despite a rather cold January our revenue for this year was running a little ahead of 2009. But, it should be mentioned that neither January 2009 nor January 2010 were as good as was January 2008. So control of expenses will be critical to us again this year. More complete information should be available at our March meeting.

Front Island – Gail Archey

Our new sign for the circle has been received and should be installed in the next week or so.  Fred Barefoot and group have agreed to do the installation and we will finalize the placement of it on Friday.  Once we get thru February and the colder weather, we will purchase the plantings which will be low maintenance.   I would like to thank all the donations and time which people have contributed to this project.

Pro Shop - Jack McLaughlin

EZLinks is up and running and we are still having growing pains. David Roe is a new hire for the counter two days/week. Say hi to him if you are in the Pro Shop.

Members are reminded that they are to check in with the Pro Shop when playing. If you are in a group such as the White Group or others, the member running the group will check you in. We keep track of rounds played to get a better feel of outside to member rounds.

Old Business –

Our member walking policy has been amended at the request of several members. We have a group that walks on Thursday afternoons; since we now have shot guns at that time, they have requested that we allow them to walk. So the policy will no longer bar members from walking during a shot gun start; we just ask that they get there early enough to walk to their assigned starting hole.

The new welcome sign is ready and we will start on putting that up soon. We will be looking for plants for that area after March 1st, when the freeze watch will “officially” be over.

New Business –

We are looking into the possibility of leasing 10 more carts from now until April 15th to help with the extra need for them once or twice a week.

Board Comments -

Members Comments –

Jim Ingalls would like to see more use made of the Web Page. Someone will be appointed to take pictures at activities. In addition he would like to have pictures of each hole posted. Another helpful feature is the ability for members and non-members to make tee times thru the Web Page. Wray will meet with Jim re. other possibilities eg. the possibility of real estate brokers using the Web Page. He will report back to the Board.
