CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I
The
name of the Association shall be Golf Hammock Ladies Golf Association.
ARTICLE II
The
purpose of the Association shall be to promote interest In golf among women
players and the holding of weekly tournaments as the Officers elect.
ARTICLE III
The
Officers of the Association shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and
Treasurer.
ARTICLE IV
The
affairs of the Association shall be managed by the Board of Directors which
consists of the Officers and Monday and Wednesday Tournaments, Rules and
Computer Handicapping Committees.
BY-LAWS
Section I
A.
Membership shall be open to any woman over 18 years of age who is a member of
Golf Hammock Country Club.
1.
To compete in major tournaments, she must have an established U.S.G.A.
handicap.
2.
To compete in weekly events for prizes, she must have a U.S.G.A. handicap or 5
scores from Golf Hammock.
3.
Maximum handicap for 18 Holes is 40; with the exception for major Golf Hammock
tournaments, which will be maximum 36.
4.
Major tournaments are: Club Championship, Presidents Cup, Scrub Jay and Queen
Bee.
B.
Members must post adjusted scores each day of play.
Section II
Election
of officers will be held once every two years in the month of December. New
officers to take office at the annual awards luncheon in December.
Section III
Vacancies
occurring during the year of either Officers or Chairman of Committees to be
filled by the Board of Directors.
Section IV
A.
Meeting of Officers and Board members to be held in January, May and September.
Additional meetings to be called as needed.
B.
A general meeting to be held every other month beginning in January, at the
discretion of the Officers.
Section V
The
President, in consultation with the Vice-President, shall appoint the following
Standing Committees to serve the Association.

Section VI
Dues
shall paid by January 1. Fiscal year being January to December. New members
joining during fiscal year will have their dues pro-rated.
Section VII
By-Laws
may be amended at any meeting by a majority of two-thirds of those present, but
must be submitted in writing prior to the meeting.
Section VIII
Play
days are every MONDAY and WEDNESDAY morning.
Section IX
Duties
of Officers and Committee Chairmen:
PRESIDENT
The
President shall preside at all General Meetings of the Association, all
meetings of the Board of Directors, and all called or special meetings. The
President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees. The President shall
appoint a nominating committee.
VICE-PRESIDENT
The
Vice-President shall act as assistant to the President, performing said duties
of the Presidency in the absence of the President. She may assist as many of
the Chairmen as may be necessary.
SECRETARY
The
Secretary shall keep the records of meetings of the Association and the Board
of Directors. The Secretary shall handle all correspondence.
TREASURER
1
. The Treasurer shall collect and keep all monies of the Association,
disbursing them as directed by the Board of Directors. She shall keep records
of all monies received and disbursed. She shall make reports of all monies
received and paid out and the amount of funds on hand. The Treasurer shall keep
a complete and current list of all members and shall advise the Membership
Chairman of each new member.
2.
The books shall be audited prior to turning over to the incoming Treasurer. The
outgoing Treasurer shall furnish her successor with a financial statement so
that a budget for the coming year can be prepared.
3.
Any member who elects to join the hole-in-one fund will pay a fee of five
dollars ($5.00). A member getting a hole-in-one will receive fifty dollars
($50,00) cash to do with as she pleases.
TOURNAMENT
The
WEDNESDAY TOURNAMENT CHAIRMAN shall prescribe conditions and rules for the
weekly play and of Tournament events.
The
MONDAY PLAY CHAIRMAN will appoint and oversee the monthly chairmen of Monday
Play.
RINGER
The
Ringer Chairman shall keep an individual record of lowest score for each hole
on each play day for all 18 hole players. There will be a red and yellow
Division.
MEMBERSHIP
The
Membership Chairman shall acquaint new members with the functions and policies
of the Association. A current list of paid members shall be kept in the Ladies
Locker Room.
PUBLICITY
The
Publicity Chairman will deliver or mail tournament results to the local
newspapers and the Golf Hammock News.
RULES
The
Rules Chairman shall make a careful study of the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf,
encourage members to learn the rules, settle disputes and make final decisions
in accordance with the U.S.G.A., and local rules of golf.
SUNSHINE
The
Sunshine Chairman shall send cards in case of illness or 'death for family
members or parents. Flowers or donations will be sent for members or spouses.
HANDICAP
The
Handicap Chairman shall be responsible for all aspects of the handicapping
including the computation of the handicaps as recommended by the U.S.G.A.
Handicaps will be changed each month.
TROPHIES AND PLAQUES
The
Trophy and Plaque Chairman shall see to the engraving and upkeep of the plaques
and/or cups.
MEMBER-GUEST
The
Member-Guest Chairman shall select a committee and make plans for this event.
YEARBOOK
The
Yearbook Chairman shall be responsible for the printing of the Yearbook and
distribution of same.
AUDITOR
The
Auditor shall audit the books of the Treasurer at the end of the fiscal year.
INTERCLUB CORRESPONDENT
The
Interclub Correspondent Chairman will be the contact person for all of outside invitationals.
HISTORIAN
The
Historian Chairman will keep the Association scrapbook up to date with pictures
and records of all events.
HIGHLANDS WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
The
Highlands Women's Golf Association Chairman will co-ordinate our participation
and keep all records for that group. She will further insure that all scores
are posted from participation in that group.
